U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2026-2027 Best Hospitals Honor Roll that recognizes the top 20 hospitals in the U.S., and five of the top 20 are AcuityPlus clients. The recognition highlights how leading healthcare organizations are leveraging objective patient acuity and nursing workload data to support high-quality patient care, operational excellence, and informed nurse staffing assignment decisions.
What the U.S. News Best Hospitals Honor Roll Measures
Published annually, the U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings recognize hospitals that demonstrate exceptional performance across the full spectrum of adult inpatient care. This year, nearly 4,500 hospitals across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions were evaluated.
Greater emphasis was placed on risk-adjusted patient outcomes this year, accounting for 80% of each hospital’s overall score. U.S. News also factored in variables linked to higher quality of care, including the number of patients treated, nurse staffing, nurse communication, and patient satisfaction scores.
